TCC is happy to announce Injectable Flu Vaccine Clinics are now scheduling!
The annual influenza vaccine is recommended by the AAP for all children 6 months and older. At this time TCC has only received our injectable flu vaccine – the good news is that for the 2018-2019 flu season the AAP strongly recommends receiving the injectable flu vaccine instead of the intranasal flu vaccine (Flu Mist) because the injectable flu vaccine has shown consistent benefit the last several seasons. Flu Mist may offer partial protection against influenza for kids over age 2 without asthma. TCC anticipates receiving our Flu Mist supply in October and will update you when this option is available.
Because of high demand for flu vaccine, we anticipate longer hold times the next several days when calling the clinic. We know your time is valuable and we encourage you to avoid the wait by using online scheduling to select your preferred evening, weekend, or daytime flu clinic appointment at your convenience. The providers at TCC know that injections cause a lot of anxiety for children and adults alike, but we strongly encourage you to support your child through any temporary discomfort or anxiety associated with the injectable flu vaccine so that they can have the best proven protection
