I could write a coffee table book about all the funny things kids say. Once a five-year-old, who I knew well, came into the clinic with a babysitter for an illness visit. When I asked who had brought him to the clinic that day, he paused and then said, “The sandwich maker.”
My goal is to provide every patient with outstanding medical care through a personalized approach. I partner with parents and families to make decisions, and it is both rewarding and an honor to help families through times of struggle. I love getting to know my patients and their families over time.
I grew up new San Francisco, California, the oldest of two boys. I was both sensitive and a rule follower and pursued many sports, including the swim team as a four-year-old. As a senior in high school, I was convinced I wanted to be a pediatrician. Summers following high school, I worked at camps for kids with diabetes or who had battled cancer and found it very rewarding. The camps for siblings of sick children were as impactful.
I am married with three children, and we enjoy traveling, skiing, hiking and watching sports together. I am an avid cyclist, and I like to bike to work in the summer when it is warm. I hope to travel more in the future and someday visit Japan and Alaska.
