The Children’s Clinic Expands Newberg Office to Serve Growing Community Needs
Newberg, OR — 10/29/2025 — Families in the Sherwood and Yamhill County area will soon have even greater access to compassionate, comprehensive pediatric care. The Children’s Clinic, the oldest pediatric practice in the Greater Portland region, has officially expanded its Newberg office, now occupying the lower floor south wing of the Coyote Place building.
With this expansion, the clinic continues its long-standing commitment to caring for children and families in the community—a tradition that has guided its work for decades. The Children’s Clinic proudly operates three offices in Newberg, Tualatin, and Portland, offering high-quality care close to home for families across the metro area.
The expanded Newberg office will accommodate new providers, extended hours, and an enhanced range of services to better meet patient needs. Drs. Kari Smart, Kristen Douglass, Robert Craft and Bethany Rosborough will continue seeing patients at our Newberg site. Joining the team are Megan Baker, MD, and Kathryn (Katie) Johnson, PA-C, two experienced and deeply compassionate pediatric clinicians.
Dr. Megan Baker brings a wealth of experience and a heartfelt approach to family-centered care.
“I love being a pediatrician! I get to help sick kids feel better, answer all the questions that come with being a parent, and grow a special relationship with my patients and their families,” said Dr. Baker. “As a parent myself, I understand how terrifying it can be when you’re worried about your child’s health. My goal is to reassure parents when it’s appropriate and respond quickly when something truly needs attention.”
Originally from the Midwest, Dr. Baker earned her medical degree from Indiana University and completed her pediatric residency at the University of Utah. Drawn to Oregon for its outdoor beauty and family connections, she now enjoys raising her two young sons while exploring the Pacific Northwest through camping, biking, hiking, and gardening.
Physician Assistant Kathryn “Katie” Johnson, PA-C, joins the team with a strong background in pediatrics and a special interest in acute care and infant health. A graduate of the University of Washington’s MEDEX PA Program, she also holds degrees in Sport Science and Spanish for Health Professions from Idaho State University.
“I’m dedicated to guiding families through every exciting stage of development,” said Johnson. “Whether it’s monitoring early milestones or supporting teens through anxiety or depression, I want to create a safe, compassionate space where every child and parent feels heard and supported.”
Outside of work, Johnson’s enjoys barre workouts, doing community theatre and has a golden doodle named Pfeiffer.
Alongside its outstanding clinical team, The Children’s Clinic offers behavioral health support with full-time child psychologist Dr. Collin Dean, nutrition services, and after-hours and weekend advice for urgent concerns. With extended hours launching in 2026, the Newberg office aims to make quality care even more accessible for busy families.
“Our mission has always been to partner with families in raising healthy, resilient children,” said Dr. Baker. “This expansion reflects our continued dedication to that goal—and to the community we’re so proud to serve.”
For more than 100 years, The Children’s Clinic has been a trusted part of the Portland metropolitan community, delivering exceptional care rooted in compassion, clinical excellence, and connection. The practice remains committed to fostering lifelong wellness for every child—because at The Children’s Clinic, your family is at the heart of everything we do.
