Watching children and families grow and building a relationship with them is my favorite part of being a pediatrician. I want the family and myself to be a team. I look at my role as being someone that gives the families all the information they need, then together, we can discuss how to use that information in a way that works best for them.
I always knew I wanted to work with children in some way and then decided on pediatrics in college. I grew up in Michigan, and my family and I would take three week long camping trips to places like Glacier National Park and the Smoky Mountains. We drove everywhere, and I didn’t fly on a plane until college. We spent a lot of time outdoors, which instilled in me a deep appreciation of nature.
Today my husband, two daughters, and I continue that tradition by spending time outside and going camping together. We also love to be silly, read and spend time with our dog Oscar whose superhero name is “Mr. Pickles.” I will karaoke but only with people I know well, and I surf.
Shared Practice
Every patient has a primary pediatrician. Sometimes, especially for last-minute appointments, your pediatrician may not have available appointments, so our pediatricians partner with each other to reduce wait times and improve access to care. Additionally, they partner with someone that complements their style and brings a fresh perspective to their patient’s care.
