As a pediatrician, it is important for me to tailor my care with the family’s parenting style because we are a team. I love watching my patient’s personalities develop as they grow and like helping them establish healthy habits that will improve their overall health throughout their lives. It is a privilege to be invited to help families raise healthy, independent, well-adjusted adults. My own experience with my pediatrician, where conversations were had about me but not with me, highlighted the importance of connecting with the patient and not just the adults.

I grew up in Oklahoma and our family loved to travel. I loved science and people and began college without a clear path but found my way to pediatrics. Moving to the Pacific Northwest has provided me with many opportunities I would not have had if I had stayed in the mid-west. I have run the Hood to Coast relay, visited national parks and enjoy being outdoors here in Oregon.

I have two cats named George and Mary and, like many of my patient’s parents, spend a lot of time in the car, driving my two kids to and from sports.
